And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. When Things Aren’t as Expected

Have you had one of those days when things did not work out the way you planned?  You took the time to schedule and prepare for that day, and everything seemed to go wrong.  Maybe it was that vacation day to the beach you planned, and rain ruined your efforts.  Or maybe you worked on a presentation for work, and none of the technology cooperated that day.  Sometimes no matter how much we plan or pay attention to details life has a way of throwing things off.

Remaining in the Presence of God Each Day

Have you noticed that the presence of the Lord sometimes seems fleeting?  There are days His presence is so evident, but there are days when He seems so far away.  There is a lot of truth in the old saying, “If God feels far away, guess who moved.  It wasn’t God.”  God is near to us.  He promises to be with us, not to forsake us.  We know that His omnipresence doesn’t limit him to one location at a time.  So, how can we remain each day in the presence of the Lord?

Outdoor Worship Guide, July 5

Happy 4th of July!  We are grateful to live in the greatest country on the planet.  We have our struggles, but we have our freedoms and dreams.  Let’s be thankful today for the blessings God has given us, but let us also pray for our country.  Let us pray for our leaders, government officials, military, law enforcement, first responders and our neighbors.  Ask the Lord to draw us back to Him in repentance and to heal our land.
